How it works
Patjol is built around the way growers already work. It measures, it suggests, and it leaves the judgement with the person who knows the ground.
Two or three probes per block, set at root depth where the crop actually draws water. Installation takes an afternoon and no trenching.
Patjol pairs each probe with local weather data, so a reading is always read alongside the rain that is coming.
The dashboard suggests irrigation runs. You keep, shift or skip them. Your decision is the one that gets recorded.
Water, inputs and harvest sit in one record, so next year's plan starts from what your own land did last year.


Example scenarios

Rain came early last week and the pump still ran. With probes in each plot, the schedule proposes skipping the run before the rain, and the plot record shows how much water that decision kept.
Twenty members, one sensor pool. The kit moves between blocks each cycle and the cooperative view shows which member's field is furthest below moisture target this week.
Instead of driving to every farm to take readings, the agronomist opens the dashboard, sees which blocks moved, and spends the day where the numbers say attention is needed.

About the name
Patjol is a historical Indonesian spelling of the word for an agricultural hoe: the tool that breaks ground, shapes a bund and clears a channel. It is a name about cultivation and practical work rather than about software.
We chose it because that is the standard we hold the product to. A hoe is simple, repairable and used by the person who understands the plot. A dashboard should be no different — plain readings, honest suggestions, and a grower's judgement at the end of it.
The mark is a hoe seen side on, its blade cut from a leaf — knowhow and growth in one shape.
